Belonging to several networking organizations got to be too much at one point and I had to scale back. The group I opted to stick with was the SBCN, because to me it offered the most value. The events are monthly (plus special events), which is easy to make time for. And if you make a commitment to attend as I have, it doesn't take long to start to build familiarity with the connections you've made. Plus new faces are sure to appear at almost every meeting, so it's easy to make new ones. Linda and Dave do a great job keeping the theme fresh and interesting, and the membership fee is trivial. To me, the SBCN is the essential networking group to belong to.

I have always believed in two things – Small businesses being a driving force behind economic growth, and the power of real face-to-face networking. With the Small Business Community Network, I have been fortunate enough to have found both.

When I was starting up the dsgn network, I was needing a way to get my name out in Kitchener-Waterloo, to engage with potential colleagues and clientele and to truly make myself the face of my business. With Linda and Dave's support over the past few years I can proudly say I have attained those goals. They are always willing to go above and beyond for me, and in turn, I have tried to do the same acting as not only the face of the dsgn network, but an Ambassador to the Waterloo Region Chapter of the SBCN.

If business owners are unsure about how to connect, engage and build true, lasting relationships then they only need to attend of one of the SBCN events. It is truly an environment where real, not Social networking thrives and you can find business connections and familiar, helpful people to build you own success.
